Storage Card
Storage Cards store data of a species' DNA. They are used in the Tissue Analyzer to store data about the scanned tissue. The DNA Sequencer can combine the data of two storage cards into a single storage card, resulting in an increased DNA quality. When a storage card holds DNA of 100% quality, it can be used in the DNA synthesizer to create a new DNA sample.
Usage
A Storage Card can store the DNA data of any extinct animal, plant or tree species. It can only store the data of a single species at any time. The DNA data is represented as a percentage, named "quality", which can never be higher than 100%. This can be viewed by hovering over a Storage Card that contains data.
The storage card is used in three machines:
Tissue Analyzer
The Tissue Analyzer analyzes a species' tissue and writes its findings onto the storage card. The quality percentage may vary.
DNA Sequencer
The DNA Sequencer exists to combine the data of two Storage Cards. This requires two Storage Card that contain DNA data of the same species, and the data quality needs to be below 100%. This will output two Storage Cards, one containing the combined data, and the other being an empty Storage Card which can be re-used for other purposes. The card containing the data will have the sum of the DNA quality, maxing out at 100%.
DNA Synthesizer
A storage Card containing 100% DNA quality can be used in the DNA Synthesizer to create a DNA string of the associated organism.
