Maiasaura
Maiasaura is a hadrosaur from the cretaceous period. It's a large herbivorous dinosaur. Their name means 'good mother lizard'.
Behaviour
Maiasauras are herbivorous, meaning they only eat plants. Maiasauras are friendly to players and other mobs.
A female Maiasaura is noticably larger than a male of the same species. The color patterns on their skin also vary quite a lot, with the females having thick dark orange stripes, in contrast to males thinner gray stripes. The tail of a male Maiasaura contains more white.
Real life
Maiasaura fossils have been found together with juvenile Maiasauras and fossilized nests. This discovery was one of the first examples of parental care in dinosaurs. Maiasauras are thought to have fed their young while they were in the nest.
There is strong evidence that Maiasaura lived in herds.
