Dimetrodon
Dimetrodon is a synapsid that lived in the Permian period. The sail on it's back makes this creature instantly recognizable. Many people mistakenly think it's a dinosaur, when in reality synapsids are more closely related to mammals than dinosaurs.
Behaviour
Dimetrodon is carnivorous and hunts small creatures.
Real life
In contrast to popular belief, Dimetrodon is not a dinosaur. It lived long before dinosaurs existed and belongs to the group synapsids, an ancestral group of mammals. The function of the prominent sail on the back of Dimetrodon is still debated.
